Who you are actually hiring

Timber Ridge Industries is Brian Giffen. Not a call center, not a rotating crew of subcontractors you have never met. When you call the number on this site, you get the person who will be running the machine on your property, and when the excavator shows up, he is on it.

That has a practical consequence worth stating plainly: we are not the outfit for a hundred-lot subdivision. We are the outfit for your septic system, your driveway, your shop pad, your wall, your lot — the residential and small-acreage work where being on the site and caring about the finish grade is the whole difference.

Built for this ground

North Idaho is a specific kind of hard. Missoula Flood gravel that digs like butter until it hits a boulder the size of a truck. Freeze-thaw that finds every place water was allowed to sit. An aquifer under the Prairie that is the drinking water for this entire valley, with the septic rules to match. Lake clay and compact till up around Sagle and Cocolalla that behaves nothing like the Prairie does.

We do not do the same build everywhere and hope. We shoot grade and hold it, we put drainage in before it is a problem, and we build for what the site is rather than what the price sheet says.

How we work

• Free estimates that are real numbers. We walk the site, talk through what you are after, and put it in writing. Not a range designed to creep.
• Permits handled on the work we do. Panhandle Health District for septic, the highway district for a driveway approach, the county where the job needs it. We tell you up front what your job needs before you are committed to anything.
• 811 called before we dig. Every time. Idaho requires two business days' notice, the locate is free, and the marks are good for about four weeks.
• Licensed and insured, and we will provide it on request. Ask any contractor for that. The ones who hesitate are telling you something.

Where we work

Most of our work sits within about an hour's drive of Hayden, which keeps our equipment costs down and yours with them: Hayden, Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Rathdrum, Dalton Gardens, Athol, Spirit Lake, Hauser, Bayview, Garwood, and up into Bonner County for Sandpoint, Ponderay, Sagle, Cocolalla and Priest River.

If you are a little outside that circle, still call. On bigger jobs the drive is a rounding error, and we would rather tell you yes or no than have you guess.
